On Beauty.

What is it?

Take a look around, think hard, and notice people in your life that you know as beautiful. Sure, looks can catch our eye. But what is it about those specific people that maintains our care and attention? Looks don’t define beauty. Beauty is showing kindness in your actions, building confidence, and being your truest self.

You mustn’t succumb to any body-shaming that’ll come from your mind. But it isn’t weak if you do. Your body deserves no shaming. And neither does your mind. All the shame belongs to society.

The way in which we have grown up as children is not in our control. I vividly remember certain gross experiences as a young girl and how most of them revolved around what others thought of me, especially my appearances. If only I were to tell her that the secret to beauty and grace doesn’t actually come from appearances.

We all know well that we’re unable to change the past. However, for the most part, we have full control over how we choose to live, as well as how we decide to see and interpret the world.
